Sure-footed into the future: Free exercise program for seniors!

The free exercise program “Sure-footed into the Future” will soon be starting in Brandenburg an der Havel. An information event will take place on July 21, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the Aktiv-Treff Hohenstücken, Max-Herm-Straße 67. Older people between the ages of 65 and 90 are warmly invited to find out about the new course offerings and register directly. The experienced trainer René Stieger, who successfully led the first course, will guide the participants through the nine-week unit.

The program aims to improve participants' mobility, strength and balance to prevent falls in old age and promote independence. No previous knowledge is required to take part and the sessions last approximately 60 minutes each. This is particularly important because older people, especially those aged 60 and over, are at increased risk of falls. Such falls can result in serious injuries such as broken bones and endanger mobility and quality of life.

The benefits of exercise programs

The exercise program complements itself perfectly with the knowledge that has been compiled on the website Gesund-aktiv-aelter- Werden.de. This emphasizes the importance of regular physical activity in order to increase fitness and well-being in old age. Practical exercises to prevent falls, which can even be done comfortably at home, promote stability and train your sense of balance. This not only strengthens the muscles of the legs, but also minimizes the risk of falling.

The 65 to 90 year old age group is often at risk of developing osteoporosis. This means brittle bones and, as a result, painful restrictions in everyday life. Targeted exercise programs such as “Surefooted into the Future” not only improve physical fitness, but also increase quality of life by promoting independence in everyday life.
