Science LIVE in Pasewalk: Citizens in conversation with experts!

In Pasewalk, on Tuesday, July 15th, there will be an exciting series of events on the market square under the title “Science – and me?!” take place. This initiative, which began on June 1, 2024 and has since been active in several German cities such as Zwickau and Brandenburg an der Havel, aims to promote dialogue between science and citizens. The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is organized by well-known institutions such as German Research Foundation (DFG), the University Rectors' Conference, and other important academic institutions.

The core of the meeting is to clarify the importance of science in everyday life and in democratic society. The program includes discussions on global challenges as well as local issues ranging from energy and the environment to society and the labor market to health and nutrition. Around 30 scientists from various disciplines come together to contribute their expertise.

Science in dialogue

The event series “Science – and me?!” has set itself the goal of strengthening communication between science and the population. This is particularly important because scientific findings such as the effects of algorithms or dealing with a growing global population are relevant to many of us. That too Federal Ministry of Research highlights that such insights are crucial for overcoming societal challenges.

The continuation of this series will include additional cities in 2025 - a sign that the exchange between science and society continues to be very popular.
