Energie Cottbus: Season review shows emotional choreos and cheers!

The 2024/25 season was anything but ordinary for Energie Cottbus. The football club's supporters not only experienced an exciting game, but also an impressive fan culture, which was expressed through great choreographies and emotional pyro shows. Ultima Raka recently published a review summarizing the most important moments of this season. It shows exciting game footage and moving scenes from the stadium, which can be viewed on the YouTube channel NUR ENERGIE! are available. This video not only captures the fans' cheers, but also the creative choreographies that FCE supporters believe are part of their club's identity. The video also shows how choreographies and fan activities are designed beyond match days, such as creating graffiti and working out aerial choreos from the perspective of a drone, reports Fascination fan curve.

A particularly outstanding event this season was the East derby against Dynamo Dresden in the Rudolf Harbig Stadium, which the fans of both sides celebrated with great choreographies. This event was the first meeting between the two clubs in eight years and was attended by an impressive crowd of around 30,000 fans, with around 3,000 Cottbus fans in attendance. The FCE unfurled an oversized pennant with the club emblem and the inscription “Pride of Lausitz”. Dresden's K-Block also presented an impressive block flag, while pyrotechnics provided atmospheric moments. In the 66th minute, things got really hot in the visitors' block when the atmosphere was heated up by burning torches, and in the final phase the Dynamo fans made their mark when they burned Energie Cottbus flags. These passionate scenes impressively demonstrate the vibrant fan culture that, like on LR online reported that it was well received by both fan groups.

Fan culture and choreographies

Choreographies are an essential part of fan culture and are characterized by their scenographic staging during major sporting events. They not only serve to visually enhance the game, but also to support your own team. They are often planned by organized fan groups and require the approval of the stadium operators, as the Wikipedia page about choreography reveals. Materials such as cardboard, textile fabrics and pyrotechnics are used, although the latter is often controversial. Such large-scale displays are usually financed through donations and membership fees, without having to resort to sponsorship.

The anticipation for the new third division season is already noticeable, and FCE will play against 1. FC Saarbrücken on August 2nd. This game will be particularly explosive as the Saarbrücken club took third place in the table away from the Cottbus team last season. President Sebastian Lemke hopes that the fans' euphoria will be further fueled by sporting success. Jens Petereins, the Cottbus fan representative, is confident and expects great support from the loyal fans at the away games too. Fascination fan curve is sure that the creative energy of the fans will once again be impressively demonstrated next season.
