Flight passengers complain massively: Court in Königs Wusterhausen overloaded!

Königs Wusterhausen, Deutschland - In the past few months, the situation at the Königs Wusterhausen district court has noticeably tightened. The number of passenger lawsuits increased massively in 2025. For example, since the beginning of the year, the court has recorded, for example, MAZ around 10,000 new complaints. This corresponds to an increase of 25 percent compared to the previous year and suggests that up to 22,000 complaints have to be expected by the end of the year.

A direct view of the system shows that the majority of the lawsuits - almost 93 percent - come from passengers from Airport BER. In order to cope with this flood of procedures, the staff at the district court is now increased. A ray of hope in the skeptical situation is the plan to try out a AI assistance program that could ensure more efficiency in everyday court life. Initial tests took place in Frankfurt and the results are promising. rbb supplemented that over 125,000 passengers were submitted in the past year, an unprecedented increase of around 80 percent.

Problems for the judiciary

The district court is one of the most stressed dishes in Germany. According to LTO Königs Wusterhausen comes behind the district court of Cologne and the dishes overloaded in Frankfurt/Main. This is mainly due to the frequent complaints about late or unusual flights. The consumer portals, the main task of which is to help passengers to enforce their claims, are shared to increase the number of complaints.

The additional expenses for the judiciary are an urgent topic in this situation. The German judge has already criticized the minor financial resources that are available for the digitization of the courts. A more comprehensive concept for improving the situation would be absolutely necessary.

innovations in the region

Not only the lawsuits concern the region. In Königs Wusterhausen, measures are also implemented to improve the infrastructure. The city plans to convert the “Hanns Eisler” community center for accessibility. The installation of an elevator and the creation of a new foyer and modernized toilets are planned. The coordination of the city council about the cultivation locations will now be decisive. The construction period is estimated at at least 12 months, although it remains unclear whether the project is ultimately approved.

High priority also has the planned bicycle parking house at the train station, but the construction of which is again delayed. Details of financing are still unclear and the latest planning phase has been running for 15 years. The community sends a high needs signal: the next tender is already in preparation, but access to funding is only available from 2027.

ecological measures

An important environmental policy measure is the recently imposed water removal ban in the districts of Dahme-Spreewald and Spree-Neisse. Due to falling water levels, the withdrawals from the Spree and upper reaches of the Dahme were restricted between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. to avoid water shortages. This regulation concerns several cities, including Spremberg, Drebkau and Burg.

In conclusion, it remains to be mentioned that the culture in this region is not neglected: The movie "Go Clara Go", which deals with the artist group Clara Mosch before the fall of the Berlin Wall, celebrates its premiere in Chemnitz on June 24th, followed by further performances in Dresden and Berlin.
