Last weekend the 16th state championships in firefighting took place in Doberlug-Kirchhain. Among the 40 Brandenburg firefighters who took part in the competition, four teams from the Rhinow district in Havelland were also represented. With two men's teams, one women's team and a mixed team, the young firefighters not only took part in large numbers, but also brought a lot of enthusiasm with them. They were loudly supported by fans from their home country who had traveled with them, who created a great atmosphere and cheered on their teams. The event took place in the renowned Elbe-Elster fire department sports center, where the participants prepared their devices according to the regulations to the millimeter in order to give their best in the “wet fire attack” competition. Vice President Daniel Brose from the Brandenburg State Fire Brigade Association observed the exciting competitions and local fire chief Daniel Weber expressed his pride in the achievements of his teams, who put on an impressive performance.
Particular attention was paid to the results of the individual teams that competed in various categories in the “wet firefighting attack”. The top placings for the men's teams were dominated by the Prestewitz and Dannenwalde volunteer fire departments (FF), who each achieved excellent times. The results show that the competition was strong and the participants fought at a high level.

The district championships can look back on a long-standing tradition and were once again a big celebration for the fire departments and their friends from the region this year. The event salon was enthusiastically prepared in advance so that the competitions could take place without any problems. In addition to the exciting competitions, there was also the opportunity for exchange between fire departments from different regions of Brandenburg, which strengthened the sense of community. Other activities at the state championships included the 4x100m fire brigade relay and the group relay, in which the participating teams gave their all as usual to get the best out of their performances.
