Germania 90 Berge: Promotion to the district league and cup dreams!

After two years of hard work in the district league, Germania 90 Berge fought its way back to the top division of the Havelland football district. The promotion, which was aimed for in March 2022 with the return of former coach Daniel Kuhnt as sports director, is a real sense of achievement for coach Sebastian Rösicke's team. Continuously unbeaten, with 24 wins and 2 draws in over a year, the club is on a high.

The exciting duel with local rivals Bredower SV attracted fans to the stadiums, where they were able to experience exciting games. The second leg in May 2023 in particular, which ended with an impressive 7-2 win for Germania 90 Berge, will remain unforgettable. The first point was won in November 2022, when the game ended goalless and attracted 500 spectators. maz-online.de reports that ...

Safety precautions in focus

A grueling chapter was the game against Bredower SV in November 2024, which took place under increased security precautions. The police had demanded a preventive security concept from the home club, which included separate entrances for away fans and players, a separate guest block as well as Dixi toilets and its own bar. Although it was only a 10th league game, the police were on site to ensure a safe environment. Across Germany, the Brandenburg State Football Association (FLB) Germania 90 has classified mountains as a known risk due to past incidents. rbb24.de offers further insights into this.

The extra security measures, which cost around 1,000 euros, were ultimately borne by the club, which is in financial difficulties. A sign of how important safety is in amateur football, with smaller clubs in particular often reaching their limits here.

New faces and big goals

Personnel changes are also planned for the coming season in the district league: While some players such as Tobias Meger and Nils Schaller are leaving the club, several new additions are being welcomed. Including Patrick Horn from Langener SV as well as Amadou Meyer and Stefan Rackwitz, who come from Grün-Weiss Brieselang. However, the team has a valuable player in Maximilian Janke, the league's top scorer, who scored 26 goals to secure the goals for the coming season.

On June 27th, the team not only dreams of promotion again, but is also in the district cup final against last year's winner RSV Eintracht 1949 II. On the way to the final, strong opponents, including the district top division team SV Ziesar 31, were defeated. The expectations are high, and last but not least, Germania 90 Berge has already qualified for the state cup. The DFB emphasizes that security at events has the highest priority: “Protecting events, spectators, teams and officials is a priority.”

Daniel Kuhnt has ambitious plans: A three-year plan envisages the club being promoted to the national league, which opens up a number of possibilities for the club's future. With a good hand in squad planning and the passion of the active fan scene, Germania 90 Berge will do everything in its power to achieve its goals.
