Michelin star for Falkensee: Discover the celebrated restaurant Sawito!

In Falkensee, right on Spandauer Straße, there is now a new star in the gastronomic sky: the restaurant “Sawito” recently received its first Michelin award. This recognition was awarded in a festive ceremony on Tuesday evening in Frankfurt am Main, and “Sawito” joins the list of culinary delights in Brandenburg, which also includes the “Kochzimmer” and the “Alte Überfahrt”, which have retained their stars. The operators, the Wruck family, are extremely happy about this, as they had originally planned to open an Italian restaurant. Now they are bringing modern, creative cuisine to the table that is based on classic principles, as rbb24 reports.

“Sawito” impresses with an appealing, bistro-like ambience that offers guests a relaxed atmosphere. The west terrace invites you to enjoy your meal in the fresh air and can accommodate up to 70 guests - 35 inside and 35 outside. The menu includes both a four- and five-course menu, as well as a surprise menu on certain days. Dishes such as “Spicy Vodka Pasta” and lamb in various preparations are on the list and are accompanied by a wonderfully paired wine selection that rounds off the culinary experience. The desserts, prepared by pastry chef Eric Ohlmann, have also made a name for themselves and are fondly remembered by many guests, such as the [Märkische General].

A look at the culinary competition

With “Sawito”, Brandenburg now has a total of three Michelin star restaurants. In addition to the “Kochzimmer” in Potsdam and the “Alte Überfahrt” in Werder, the region offers an exciting variety of gastronomic experiences. The situation has also developed in Berlin: three new one-star restaurants were awarded here, including “Loumi” in Kreuzberg, “Matthias” in Prenzlauer Berg and “Pars” in Charlottenburg. There are now a total of 17 one-star restaurants in the capital, as moz.de reports.

When asked about the prices, it can be said that the starters in “Sawito” cost between 20 and 32 euros, main courses between 32 and 42 euros and dessert variations for 15 to 20 euros. The menus cost between 70 and 115 euros, while the wine pairings vary between 40 and 58 euros. However, caution is advised when it comes to service quality, as waiting times can arise for up to 35 guests with two wait staff. And unfortunately, participation is not possible for people with mobility limitations because the restaurant is not wheelchair accessible.

For gourmets and those who want to become one, “Sawito” brings a breath of fresh air to Falkensee’s gastronomy and impresses with a mix of innovative dishes and an inviting ambience. We can only hope that there will be more such culinary delicacies in Brandenburg in the future.
