Celebratory return to the Middle Ages: Wesendorf celebrates 650 years!

A small village that celebrates big: Wesendorf near Zehdenick celebrated its 650th anniversary in style last weekend. Of course, such a big birthday has to be celebrated with a very special parade. The highlight of the celebrations was the traditional parade that took place through the streets on Saturday at 1 p.m. sharp. The participants came not only from Wesendorf itself, but also from the surrounding communities. Many of them were dressed in historical raffia clothes and proudly displayed the traditions of their village. The audience waited on the side of the road, clapping enthusiastically and letting themselves be infected by the festive mood.

Visitors were able to enjoy regional delicacies at various stands, while a barbecue stand was available for hungry stomachs. There was a packed program for the little guests with a fairy tale truck, face painting, hobby horse racing and a bouncy castle.

A celebration for the whole family

The festival weekend began on Friday with a relaxed warm-up, where DJs Pille, Wanne and Elies provided the musical entertainment. On Saturday the place was filled with guests and families who were looking forward to the full program. In addition to the big parade, there were numerous attractions that made every festival visitor's heart beat faster. The knight's camp that was set up transported those present to the Middle Ages and offered exciting demonstrations that were commented on with many oohs and aahs.

The evening was crowned with a special highlight: a Udo Lindenberg double performed and got the crowd singing along and celebrating. A lovely evening that rounded off the anniversary perfectly.
