New tiny house resort in Schmachtenhagen: opening soon!

A new splendor shines in the Oranienburg district of Schmachtenhagen: an exciting leisure resort is being developed there on the site of a former farmers' market. The maz online reports that construction of the first six tiny houses has already begun. This undertaking is an emotional moment for managing director Ilona Plass, as it marks the end of an almost five-year wait. The resort's official opening is scheduled for October 1, 2025.

The new caravanning resort will be spectacular: a total of 150 parking spaces for mobile homes and 30 lovingly designed tiny houses are planned. These come not only from Germany, but also from Estonia and Wales, and can accommodate two to four people. The tiny houses are equipped with a separate sleeping area, a cozy living room, a modern kitchen area and a toilet with shower. There is also an outdoor terrace and you can even book a mobile hot tub for the ultimate wellness experience.

A place of relaxation

But that's not all the 8-hectare facility has to offer. In addition to the tiny houses, other exciting facilities are being built, including a large swimming pond, spacious green areas and an event hall for various events. Culinary delights are also catered for - a restaurant building is nearing completion and will offer food and drinks for both resort guests and visitors. A large beer garden, a beach club and a playground for the younger guests are also planned.

The Bremen entrepreneur Oliver Wandel originally presented the concept five years ago. However, a planned opening date for 2023 had to be postponed due to approval procedures. Compared to other areas of the tiny house movement, such as the travel pleasure, where self-sufficient tiny houses with their own power supply and modern amenities thrive, the Caravanserei Resort positions itself as an ideal retreat for those seeking relaxation and adventurers in the heart of Brandenburg.

The construction work on site is going according to plan and the anticipation of the opening is palpable. The tiny house community is booming: more and more people are discovering the appeal of minimalist living and living spaces close to nature. The caravanning resort could respond precisely to these needs and set a new trend that will also be noticed in other parts of Germany.
