Land fun in Brandenburg: New parking spaces for camping friends!

In Brandenburg there are news for camping friends and nature lovers: staying in the motorhome or caravan on fields and meadows is generally prohibited, but there are some exceptions. According to Maz Ostprignitz-Ruppin and Prignitz set up special parking spaces for camper. These hosts are part of the Land pleasure network, which enables its members to stay in their country free of charge for 24 hours, provided they buy regional products.

The season for these unique offers usually lasts until October, and many guests are older couples who stop on their way to the Baltic Sea. However, an interesting development is evident: more and more “wild campers” spend the night free of charge without returning anything that makes the providers think.

land fun - a paradise for camper

Land fun is not only a network, but also a parking space guide for near -natural camping in Germany. Overnight stays are possible on idyllic farms, for winegrowers or cheese factories. The hosts provide insights into their companies and it is possible to try or buy regional products. The parking lot leader costs 49.90 euros and includes a member card and an annual vignette, which is valid from March 31 to March 31 of the following year. Over 1400 hosts are listed in it, and around 75 % also accept caravans. Dogs are usually allowed, but have to be leashed, and some courtyards offer water, electricity, showers or toilets for a small fee.

The associated App supplements the parking space guide digitally, but can only be used to a limited extent in your map view. This presented some users with challenges and there were reports of error messages. Many campers want binding descriptions of the parking spaces to better understand what they are offered so that some users of the app face mixed feelings.

Camping and challenges

In the middle of all the developments, there are also challenges that affect the quality of life of the residents. In Fehrbellin, the Lidl market will be closed for several weeks in August to be expanded. This means that only the EDEKA market remains open, which can become a problem, especially for older people without a car, since food supply is at risk. Another important point is the investment of the Neuruppin University Hospital in two cardiac catheter laboratories, which are renewed at 2.5 million euros. Despite a deficit in the millions, it continues to invest in technology, which has already led to increased patient treatment.

Last but not least, the Wittstock tree keeper warns against breaks due to the continuing drought. Around 30,000 municipal trees are affected and a tree cadastre is created to record their condition. This is particularly true on heat days, especially in the green belt and in the Friedrich-Ebert-Park. The pitfalls of the weather and the challenges in everyday life show that there are often several pages of a medal, be it in camping or in the city supply.
