Potsdam loses hot home game against Münster despite a strong performance!
On November 1, 2025, SC Potsdam played a thrilling home game against USC Münster II in the MBS Arena. Although Potsdam was able to win a strong first set, the game ended in a 1:3 defeat despite this encouraging performance. The sets ended in this order: 25:21, 18:25, 22:25 and 22:25. With this result, Potsdam finds itself in an awkward position after its last home game.
At the beginning of the game, USC Münster scored the first point, after which Potsdam immediately equalized. In an exciting first set, the hosts finally scored some decisive points, which led to a 25:21 victory. But the guests, who took a 1-0 lead in the second set, were undeterred. Münster won the set 25:18 and thus equalized the game.
A balanced duel
As the game progressed, the exciting duel continued. The third set was closely fought, with Münster initially leading 1-0 and Potsdam catching up, but ultimately losing out again at 25-22. Potsdam also showed fighting spirit in the fourth set and led at times 10:8. But the guests stuck with it and won this set with 25:22, which determined the final result.
A bright spot for Potsdam was the performance of Rike Machner, who was awarded the silver MVP medal for her good performance. On the other hand, Rebecca Schäperklaus from USC Münster was awarded Most Valuable Player.
The next challenges
SC Potsdam will have their next opportunity to make amends on November 2nd, when the team meets VCO Münster in another second division match. The fans can be curious to see whether the team can turn things around and score important points.
