Important deadlines and information

The deadlines surrounding the election are particularly important. From July 21, 2025, election posters may be hung in Potsdam. The election notifications will be sent to citizens eligible to vote from August 11, 2025. If no candidate achieves the necessary majority in the first round of voting on September 21st, there will be a runoff election on October 12th between the two candidates with the most votes. This will show which of the candidates can win the trust of the people of Potsdam.

The elections not only offer the opportunity to elect the city leader, but also to position oneself under the key points of local politics. Local elections are an important piece of democracy and give citizens the voice they need to help shape their city. It will be exciting to see who wins the race!
