Games madness and parent media day: a celebration for the whole family!
On Sunday, November 12, 2025, the leisure meeting point in Potsdam will be transformed into a land of milk and honey for families. The games festival “Spielwahnsinn” and the tenth Potsdam Parent Media Day take place here, an event that combines games and learning content in an entertaining way. The event, which is organized by the facility itself, runs from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and is particularly aimed at families with children aged six and over.
Visitors can look forward to a variety of activities. Whether board games, large-scale and action games or old classics like Pac-Man - the fun factor is guaranteed. The Potsdam Parent Media Day is particularly interesting, as it offers important information about digital games and media. Lectures and workshops will discuss how much screen time is healthy for children and how to recognize fake news.
The highlights of the fitness program
A special feature of the festival is the collaboration with the media workshop and the Galadriel game store. Here, families can test out new board games and get ideas for playing time together. Another highlight is the opportunity to negotiate a media usage agreement with “Chill Out” experts to promote a healthy balance in media usage.
In addition, exciting activities are on offer: from retro gaming and electronic scrap painting to a repair café light - there is something for everyone here. And the parenting advice center “Solutionsweg” is also on site to support parents with their questions and challenges. At "Let's talk! Media in everyday family life" they can discuss how best to use technology and make screen time sensible.
A birthday and many surprises
The Potsdam Parents' Media Day is celebrating its tenth birthday this year - a reason to celebrate! The program is diverse: craft activities for your own “chill cubes”, a digital song workshop for music production and even a podcast with your own topics, all under the motto of dealing with digital technology.
Participation in all of these activities is free of charge, which makes the event particularly attractive for families. Not only is fun here, but we also actively contribute to connecting families and creating a shared media experience. It's definitely worth spending an afternoon at the Leisure Meeting Point to enjoy this colorful mix of games and information!
