Next weekend, the Friendship Island in Potsdam will be the stage for two exciting productions Theater Company Potsdam. The always fascinating story of Pippi Longstocking and the dark psyche drama “Woyzeck” captivate viewers.
Performances start on July 11th with “Woyzeck,” Georg Büchner’s timeless work that tells the tragic story of the soldier Franz Woyzeck. The audience is given an insight into the psychological depths of this character, who desperately fights for his family while he undergoes medical experiments and ultimately descends into madness. This innovative production shows the inner conflicts and character challenges in a captivating way. Tickets for “Woyzeck” are available from 20 euros, with a reduced price of 10 euros for schoolchildren and students. The performances take place from July 10th to 12th at 7:30 p.m.
A fairy tale for the whole family
For younger viewers, the colorful world of Pippi Longstocking comes to life on July 12th and 13th at 3 p.m. This production is based on the popular story by Astrid Lindgren, whose classic melodies were set to music by Georg Riedel. The performance promises a fast-paced stage adventure with lots of music and fun for the whole family. The entry prices are family-friendly: children pay 15 euros, adults 35 euros, and a family ticket for two adults and two children costs just 50 euros.
The Theater Company Potsdam, which was founded twelve years ago, has made a name for itself for creative and appealing productions. Producer Alexander Kauf promises that both “Pippi Longstocking” and “Woyzeck” will offer animated and emotional performances. The combination of fun and serious topics such as those dealt with in “Woyzeck” shows the broad spectrum of theater.
