Volunteer nursing assistants from Prignitz successfully trained!
In the Prignitz district, nine committed people recently successfully trained in supporting people in need of care. In a qualification course that took place from May 27th to June 24th, 2025, eight women and one man from the Prignitz and Ostprignitz-Ruppin districts were trained to provide valuable help in the everyday lives of older people. This reports maz-online.de.
The course consisted of 30 hours in total, divided into weekly sessions that took place every Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Under the professional guidance of Nicole Lindemann, the “on-site care” coordinator, and other coordinators from Karstädt, the participants were provided with valuable knowledge and practical skills. Mayor Axel Schmidt of Perleberg was present at the ceremony to award the certificates and praised the volunteers' efforts.
Knowledge for everyday life
The aim of the course was clear: the participants should not only learn how they can support people in need of help, but also how they can promote their independence and relieve the burden on relatives. Special topics such as supporting people with dementia were also covered. This information comes from another source that deals with similar training and highlights the importance of such courses: bildungswerk.de.
"It's great to see how many people are willing to volunteer for the well-being of others. Such courses give them the tools so that they can fulfill their role professionally," said the organizers.
Volunteering is worth it
The qualifications acquired enable graduates to gain insured membership in a group of helpers. This not only promotes motivation to use one's own skills to serve the community, but also makes it easier to exchange ideas with other helpers. “The network of like-minded people is enormously valuable,” emphasizes Lindemann.
Registration for future courses and detailed information provision is possible at the town hall in Perleberg, where the contact details for registration can also be found. Participation in the course was free, which further facilitates engagement. More information about upcoming qualification courses can also be found on the website KJR Prignitz.
