Eisbären Berlin lose an exciting duel in Klagenfurt 2:3

On August 30, 2025, the Eisbären Berlin suffered a bitter defeat in the Champions Hockey League (CHL). In the duel against Klagenfurt AC they lost 2:3 in the Heidi-Horten-Arena on Lake Wörthersee. Despite a determined performance, coach Serge Aubin's team was unable to turn the game around.

The Eisbären got off to a brilliant start and took the lead in the 19th minute through Erik Hördler. The cheers were great, but the joy didn't last long. Just a few minutes after the break, more precisely in the 24th minute, Nicholas Petersen equalized for Klagenfurt. The game picked up speed: Mathias From gave his team a 2-1 lead in the 29th minute. A brief glimmer of hope came back in the 33rd minute when Leo Pföderl equalized in the power play.

Tension until the last minute

But Klagenfurt AC was unimpressed and took the lead again in the 37th minute through Luka Gombac. In the final third, Aubin tried everything to find the equalizer. He replaced goalkeeper Jake Hildebrand with an additional outfield player, but the Eisbären were unable to convert the pressure into goals. Ultimately it remained 2:3 and Klagenfurt celebrated the victory.
