Professional Fire Department Day 2025: Branitz Youth Fire Department in operational fever!

On November 6th, 2025, an exciting professional fire brigade day took place for the youth fire brigade in Branitz. Nine realistic operational exercises were carried out with the active support of the Branitz Volunteer Fire Department. During these exercises, the young firefighters had the opportunity to prove themselves in various emergency scenarios. Among other things, they had to fight fires, provide technical assistance and deal with dangerous goods and medical emergencies that resulted in several injured people. This required not only skill, but also teamwork and careful action.

A particular challenge was the simulation of radio traffic and alarms from a control center, which excellently imitated the character of a real operation. Realistically designed operational depictions and detailed make-up of the “injured” created an authentic atmosphere. The youth fire brigade received support from the Johanniter Accident Aid Cottbus and the medical director of the Spree-Neiße district, who provided valuable insights into medical care and the care of emergency patients.

Diverse training content

The practices that the young people learned were not only exciting, but also crucial for their later use. As stickerstars.de emphasizes, interesting and instructive fire brigade exercises are the key to effective training. The participants learned, among other things, the techniques for extinguishing fires, the safe rescue and transport of injured people, as well as life-saving first aid measures.

Preparing for operations and understanding operational tactics is just as important. The focus on physical fitness, endurance and flexibility is also part of the training. It is well known that many fire departments struggle with youth concerns, which is why such dynamic exercises can help stimulate young people's interest in fire service.

Strengthen community and team spirit

But it wasn't just the practical work that was on the agenda; the community was also taken care of. In addition to the intensive exercises, there were training sessions, a night hike and a convivial meal of bread on sticks around the fire bowl. These activities not only strengthened team spirit, but also ensured that the young people emerged from the weekend with new friendships and experiences.

The gentlemen from the Branitz Volunteer Fire Department and numerous helpers contributed significantly to the success of the event. “It was a complete success and an important building block in the training of our young firefighters,” was the unanimous opinion among the organizers. This weekend will be remembered - with new insights, exciting experiences and strong cohesion in the group.

The youth fire brigade can look back on an eventful and educational 24-hour adventure and is taking a significant step towards their future operations. If that's not a reason to be proud of the next generation of firefighters!
