Hanover fan attacks Cottbus supporter in the regional express!
In a bizarre incident on the trip to the first round of the DFB Cup, there was a robbery involving the green and white colors of Hannover 96 on Saturday. The 37-year-old perpetrator, known as a die-hard fan of the club, is said to have stolen several scarves and jerseys from FC Energie Cottbus supporters on the RE2 regional express between Lübben and Lübbenau around 2:30 p.m. According to Bild, he threatened his victims while they were driving and made off with the stolen goods of three jerseys and a scarf.
However, thanks to attentive witnesses, the perpetrator was caught and identified by the federal police. Even though the stolen property was no longer found on him because he had probably thrown it away shortly after the crime, the investigations by the federal police and the Brandenburg police led to his arrest. Interestingly, the man already had a criminal record and was subsequently banned from the stadium. Fortunately, there were no injuries and the video recordings from the train are now being evaluated to clarify further details.
Aftermath in the stadium
At the end of the day things were better for the Cottbus fans on the pitch: at the LEAG Energie Stadium they won the duel against Hannover 96 1-0 and thus moved into the second round of the DFB Cup. A certainly positive outcome for the loyal fans!

There will also be other events on the program in the coming days, such as the traveling cinema, which will feature silent film cinema and live music in Landestrost Castle on August 20, 2025. The cultural offerings invite anyone interested to explore the diversity of the region and provide unforgettable experiences.
