A violent storm that swept across Brandenburg on Monday caused some damage but remains manageable overall. The region around Neuzelle in the Oder-Spree district was particularly affected, where a freight train collided with a fallen tree. The driver of the train was slightly injured and had to be taken to hospital.
Lavished with a range of duties, the police control center in Brandenburg assured that the events were intense but under control. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries or even deaths during the storm. The route between Eisenhüttenstadt and Wellmitz was closed for almost an hour and a half after the incident before the fire department was able to clear the tracks and rail traffic could resume.
