Dramatic mayoral election in Jüterbog: recount requested!

On June 29, 2025, the city of Jüterbog experienced an election evening with dramatic twists and uncertainties. Citizens had the opportunity to cast their vote for the new full-time mayor, and the results caused surprising developments. Loud maz online Sabrina Dimde (BBJ/SPD) and Christiane Lindner-Klopsch (independent) made it to the runoff election, while Tilman Weber, who also ran without party affiliation, missed qualifying for the runoff election by just eleven votes. Sebastian Geess (independent) did significantly worse with 10.9 percent.

The polling stations closed at 6 p.m., and initial counts showed Weber clearly in the lead in the towns of Fröhden and Markendorf with around 40 percent. But Dimde and Lindner-Klopsch were undeterred and took turns behind Weber over the course of the evening. The results of the postal vote painted a sharper picture that favored Dimde, as she received over 34 percent of the vote in all four districts. In Grüna in particular, all three candidates achieved a similar number of votes of around 31 percent.

Runoff election date and recount
