Train timetable change: Everything you need to know for Teltow-Fläming!
The Deutsche Bahn timetable change on December 14, 2025 will bring significant changes for the Teltow-Fläming regions and especially for rail travelers. This change particularly affects the RE3, RE4 and RB24 lines, which means a noticeable change for many commuters. A recent report from maz online describes the changes that will be implemented for railway customers after the timetable change.
Change of lines
A notable point: The S-Bahn journeys between Lutherstadt Wittenberg and Jüterbog will be completely canceled. This is not only a nuisance for commuters, but also for travelers who depend on this connection. In addition, the RB24 regional train, which previously ran between Eberswalde and Blankenfelde, will be merged. In the future, the RB24 will run every hour from 3 a.m. to 11 p.m., with almost all trains starting and ending in Blankenfelde. Travelers can look forward to a short connection to continue their journey with the RE8. Some RB24 connections operate beyond Wünsdorf-Waldstadt in the morning and evening. The popular night trips on weekends will remain, which is a real plus for many travelers.
Changes for airport traffic
The RB32 line between Oranienburg and Ludwigsfelde will also be merged and will have new stops at BER Airport and in Berlin Ostkreuz. This train service operates hourly from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m. and offers a late service shortly before midnight. It should be noted, however, that due to construction work, the RB32 will only run between Berlin-Lichtenberg and Ludwigsfelde until February 8, 2026. An important note is that regional trains will no longer stop at Schönefeld station in the future, but will head directly to BER Airport - a step that will be a relief for many travelers.
News for the RE3 line
There is also news for the RE3 line between Stralsund and Lutherstadt Wittenberg. In the future, this will run hourly between Wittenberg and Berlin during rush hour. However, every second train ends in Luckenwalde outside of peak hours, although Jüterbog can still be reached every hour with the RE4. In addition, the RE3 will stop in Woltersdorf every two hours, which will be helpful for commuters in this region.
Temporary restrictions
However, the situation will be made more difficult for those who rely on the connection between Wittenberg and Berlin, as rail traffic will be completely paralyzed until December 13, 2025. During this time, replacement bus services will be organized for lines RE3 and RE4 so as not to let travelers down. In addition, passengers will face further restrictions due to the renovation of the train station in Zossen until 2027: the RB24 will only run to Blankenfelde and the RB10 will be extended to Rangsdorf. But the Dresden Railway between Berlin Südkreuz and Blankenfelde promises a noticeable reduction in travel time of around 15 minutes between Südkreuz and BER.
The new timing and the merging of lines show that Deutsche Bahn is trying to respond to the needs of passengers while at the same time taking into account the volume of heavily frequented connections. Having a good hand will continue to be necessary in rail traffic between Wittenberg and Berlin in the future.
