ST-Holzwelten in Werder: Last chance at the clearance sale!
The Werder store “ST-Holzwelten” is closing due to a lack of customers and is offering a clearance sale at the weekend.

ST-Holzwelten in Werder: Last chance at the clearance sale!
A small shop in Werder (Havel) was closed today, which was known to many as a place to go for handmade natural wood art and unique decorations. The “ST-Holzwelten Werderaner Holzkunst” business on Glindower Chausseestrasse was managed by Marten Kryezi and Janice Kutzner, who only opened the business last fall. Despite a promised range of interior furnishings, from decorative items starting at 10 euros to majestic dining tables for up to 2,000 euros, the response from customers was not sufficient.
Janice Kutzner also offered creative workshops, such as sewing and drawing courses, as well as portrait work of pets. But the harsh realities of retail ultimately led to the decision to close the store. A “plus-minus-zero business,” is how Kryezi describes the situation. Lack of profitability and an unfavorable location of the store, which is a little away from the center with limited parking, ultimately forced the operators to take action.
Clearance sale with attractive discounts
The farewell to “ST-Holzwelten” is accompanied by a clearance sale that offers discounts of up to 50 percent. This starts this weekend and will take place on Friday and Saturday, with a repeat next week. Kryezi also plans to offer its products in other stores, including the “Karel Möbel” furniture barn in Kremmen. Although the Werder location has been canceled by the end of the month, Kryezi is not ruling out the possibility of opening its own store in the future - although perhaps on its own.
Interest in the vacant space has already aroused: an undertaker has applied to rent the space, which shows that there is still demand for commercial space in the area.
Challenges for retail
The closure of “ST-Holzwelten” is not just a local phenomenon. According to a study by Bain & Company, which states in its report “The Future of Retail: Six Disruptions That Could Shape the Next Decade,” retailers have increasingly had to face new challenges in recent years. Six identified trends show that the future of retail will be heavily influenced by automation, personalization and changing consumer behavior. Retailers are diversifying their offerings and entering new business areas in order to remain competitive.
A key point is that retailers should not only focus on pricing strategies, but rather meet specific customer needs. These findings are particularly valuable for local companies like “ST-Holzwelten”, which could potentially benefit from better planning and strategic action.
Overall, it is clear that retail is changing. Companies that manage to adapt to these changes could write the next chapter in the history of retail. Especially in a time full of uncertainty due to economic challenges and changing consumer needs, a well-thought-out concept is essential.
