Bus stop in Carmzow becomes an eye-catcher for young families!

A fresh wind blows through the Carmzow district of the Carmzow-Wallmow municipality. The bus stop next to the “Kastanienstübchen” daycare center is undergoing a comprehensive redesign that is not only functional, but also enhances the image of the village. The plans were developed in close coordination with the daycare committee and aim to increase the visibility of the daycare center and improve the living environment of the residents. Mayor Jörn Muranko emphasizes that the daycare center offers a special attraction in its quiet, safe location away from the main road, which, however, often remains hidden.

Since its founding in 1968, the daycare center has gone through a number of changes. Originally founded as a harvest kindergarten, it has developed into a place where closeness to nature and family care are very important. The idyllic location at the end of an old chestnut avenue, surrounded by a small park with a lake and two sports fields, offers the children the opportunity to explore and appreciate nature every day. The last modernization measures took place in 2019 to improve the spatial conditions for the children.

A lively eye-catcher

The newly designed bus stop will serve as a modern eye-catcher and signpost to the daycare center. The support of the regional energy supplier Enertrag was crucial for the implementation of the project. Nocco Grüning, speaker from Enertrag, emphasized the corporate responsibility and the positive development of the region that results from such initiatives. The graffiti artist Stanley Hinz decorated the stop with stories of the seasons and reports on the challenge of working on the unsuitable walls, but also on the curiosity of passers-by who observed him at his artistic work.

Embedded in this picture are the memories of Werner Schewski, an 83-year-old local resident who often lingered at the stop and talked about earlier times. These stories of the past contribute to the identity of the place and underline how important such a project is for the community. Rumors say that the daycare center currently has five free places and therefore offers a valuable contact point for families.

An investment in the future

The redesign of the stop is a visible sign of the upgrading of the place and creates an environment that is intended to bind both children and parents. Mayor Muranko emphasizes the importance of early childhood education and the opportunity that the new design offers families in Carmzow. The daycare center is aware of its responsibility and follows an approach that is based on the guiding principle of Confucius: “Learning by engaging actively and self-determinedly with your environment.”

With care times from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., offered by three state-certified educators, the children can enjoy two group rooms, a creative room and a construction room in which they can let their imagination run wild. This combination of a natural approach and holistic support makes Kita Kastanienstübchen a special place in the region that places great value on education and upbringing.

This makes the village of Carmzow not only more livable, but also more visible - a place where tradition and future go hand in hand. In this process, the bus stop is not just a stopping point, but an inviting place that tells stories and promotes community.
