Volunteering in the Uckermark: Your vote counts in the home check!
A lot of exciting things are happening in the Uckermark right now! The weekend offers numerous excursion tips and great events. The region benefits greatly from the voluntary commitment of its citizens, who ensure that festivals and activities remain lively. For example, the village festival in Gramzow or the city wall festival in Templin are largely organized by volunteers who do their part to create a happy atmosphere. Again Northern Courier reports, these volunteers not only support celebrations, but also meeting places and reading alouds in retirement homes.
The Uckermark volunteer fire brigades also make an important contribution to fire protection. In addition to these everyday but important tasks, there are also recognitions for the committed people in the region. The Uckermark district, among other things, awards recognition to volunteers, and the city of Prenzlau has created a medal of honor. In order to further promote commitment, Templin is organizing a volunteer day during which participants can visit the Natur Therme Templin free of charge.
Home check and surveys
An exciting project is currently underway via the “Heimatcheck” survey portal, which is open until June 22nd. The portal that from Northern Courier is operated, offers residents the opportunity to share their experiences and suggestions in a survey with 30 questions on 15 topic areas. There are also prizes: participants can win one of 25 prizes worth 200 euros each!
Diverse events
But the Uckermark offers much more than just surveys. Culinary and cultural things are happening in the region! This week, for example, the focus is on the Eisschmiede as a wonderful meeting place for families, friends and neighbors. The 775th anniversary celebrations in Blankenburg start on Friday, June 27th: a classical concert opens the newly renovated church, followed by a parade on Saturday. In addition, many other events are being planned, including concerts by the bands “Jakkle”, “Ciblé”, “Clover” as well as the open-air cinema “Wochenendrebellen” and much more, as on Uckermark Magazine can be found.
Overall, it shows that the Uckermark is a place where voluntary commitment is not only needed, but also valued. The numerous events offer a great opportunity to come together and celebrate the community. And don’t forget to take part in the “Heimatcheck” and raise your voice!
