Ex-daily editor reveals: How media deceive us!
Alexander Teske, former editor and themed planner at the Tagesschau, causes a sensation with his new book "Inside Tagesschau". On Wednesday, June 25th, he will present his findings as part of the 55th Malchow format in the Malchow church and promises an revealing evening on the topic "We are deceived! The corrupt system of ÖRR".
The event begins at 6 p.m., while the café in the memory opens at 5 p.m. Teske, who worked for a long time in the ARD, uses the evening to shed light on the internal processes of the Tagesschau and the challenges to which the editors face. In particular, he will respond to the growing criticism of the reporting, which is often one -sided.
criticism of the Tagesschau
In his book, Teske deals with various critical points, which he noticed during his time at the Tagesschau. He describes the editorial team as a place where career ambitions and power games influence the reporting. These observations are not new, since other media such as the NZZ reports and above all preferred the opinions of the SPD and the Greens.
A stressful example of Teske calls on the unequal reporting on crimes, especially those related to migrants. The criticism that he practices at the Tagesschau also affects corona reporting, which in his view was uncritical and government -friendly.
Inscribed response
The reactions to Teske’s book are extremely diverse. The world describes it as a factual reconstruction of traumatic experiences, while time classifies it as illoyal and questionable but interesting. The Nordkurier emphasizes that the book should not be a conspiracy theory, but an invitation for discussion about the decision-making process in the Media.
Another aspect that Teske emphasizes is the lack of willingness to react to the daily news on critical voices, which it refers to as a wagon castle mentality. Here he calls for a more open discussion and more diversity within reporting.
The public broadcast in the focus
The continued criticism of the public service broadcasting also refers to a current study by the University of Mainz, which was co-financed by the Mercator Foundation. This analysis of almost 10,000 message contributions shows that ARD, ZDF and Deutschlandradio are often accused of political one -sidedness. According to the media state contract, however, these formats should be a broad diversity and opinion diversity.
The study comes to the conclusion that the reporting in public law formats tends to be a welfare state, but largely focuses on the perspectives of the SPD and the Greens. These findings are in contrast to the allegations that Teske raises in his book that the Tagesschau shows a "wagon -like" attitude and is not sufficiently dealing with critical opinions.
The evening in the Malchow church not only promises an exciting discussion about the Tagesschau, but also a deep insight into the challenges and the dynamics that shape public service broadcasting.
