Right -wing extremism in Brandenburg: Record numbers and alarm levels rise!

Uckermark, Deutschland - in Brandenburg is the number of right -wing extremists at a new high. According to the constitutional protection report in 2024, 3,650 people are currently active in the state, including 1,430, which are classified as "violent". Interior Minister René Wilke emphasizes that this development is a serious threat to society. A look at the figures shows that ten years ago, in 2015, only 1,230 right -wing extremists were registered, of which 920 were violent. The current situation requires a watchful eye of politics and security experts. Uckermarkurier reports of these alarming statistics.

But not only in Brandenburg it looks dark: the overall right -wing personal potential in Germany rose to 50,250 at the end of 2024, which corresponds to a sudden increase compared to 40,600 in the previous year. Among these are 15,300 violent right -wing extremists. The distribution shows that 25,000 of these people are organized in parties, which illustrates the political dimension of the problem. An example of this is the AfD, which is classified as a "right -wing extremist suspicion", while its number of members has grown to over 50,000. The dispute over the change in status as a "secure right -wing extremist string" led to the resignation of Interior Minister and the Protection of the Constitution in Brandenburg.

radicalization and violence

The increase in right -wing extremist violence is alarming. In 2024, 37,835 right -wing extremist crimes were registered, which represents an increase of 47.4 % compared to 2023. Of these, 24,177 propagandaelics that make up 63.9 % of the crimes recorded. We also have an increase in acts of violence - 1,281 in 2024, which is 11.6 % more than in the previous year. The protection of the constitution thus illustrates how strictly the social situation makes.

A striking phenomenon is the instrumentalization of social issues through right -wing extremists. They use conflicts, such as the Middle East conflict, to propagate anti -migration and anti -Semitic views. At the same time, there was an increase in violent attacks on asylum accommodation, which impressively shows the endangerment of people in need of protection and reinforced the concerns of the authorities and civil society

The role of the AfD and other developments

The AfD is still the focus of the discussion. While five of their members of the state parliament are classified as extremists, various voices, including Interior Minister Wilke, support the school's high classification as "secure right -wing extremist struts". An observation of the protection of the constitution shows overlaps between the AfD and violent right -wing extremist scenes, which further stirs up in this political group.

Interestingly, the development of right-wing extremist music and martial arts scene shows a decline in events, while the number of right-wing extremist rallies remains constant. The topics often revolve around asylum, migration and queer hostility. In addition, new organizations are always active that try to continue the ideologies that emerged from dissolved clubs. Reports of the Federal Center for Political Education Warn that these new structures are ready to take responsibility.

Brandenburg is in the middle of a social upheaval, and the numbers leave little space for optimism. With a growing right -wing extremist milieu and a variety of challenges in which the state is asked, it remains to be hoped that the course of politics and society will remain determined to counteract this.
