Pop star Frank Schöbel returns to Groß Fredenwalde after 30 years!

On November 3rd, 2025, the popular pop star Frank Schöbel will visit the small town of Groß Fredenwalde again after many years. The singer not only brings nostalgic memories with him, but also a great deal of anticipation for the coming Christmas season. “Here I associate so many beautiful moments with my then partner Aurora Lacasa,” says the 80-year-old, as he thinks back to the time when he visited his in-laws’ well-tended gardens.

Aurora's family owned property in Groß Fredenwalde, which was a popular retreat for them. Schöbel remembers this time and the trips they often took. The memories are particularly valuable for him because he also has many positive experiences in Prenzlau, where he celebrated his big birthday in the Uckerseehalle.

Popularity despite challenges

Despite the challenges facing artists from East Germany, Schöbel's popularity remains undiminished. “People are still often ignored on the radio when it comes to Eastern artists,” he complains. Nevertheless, things are going well for him in the hit business: tickets for his concerts are in great demand. Posters have already been put up for his Christmas tour in the Uckermark, and the advance sales figures speak for themselves.

His tour begins on November 27th in Löbau and ends shortly before Christmas on the island of Rügen. Another concert is on the program in Prenzlau on December 6th. “I'm already planning a lot of performances for the coming year and I'm not thinking about stopping,” says Schöbel optimistically. The singer obviously has a good hand for his career, not least because of his fitness, which he attributes to good genes. His mother lived to the proud age of 96.

Regular football games and visits to the fitness center are part of his everyday life. After his performances, Schöbel takes time to sign autographs and chat with his fans before heading home. On Christmas Eve he plans to go to his daughter in Dresden and spend the holidays there.
