Stefan Zierke withdraws from local politics after 15 years!

Prenzlau, Deutschland - Stefan Zierke, a well-known SPD politician from Prenzlau, has announced his retreat from local politics today. After more than 15 years of active participation in the city council of Prenzlau and in the district council of the Uckermark, he now draws his consequences and laid down his offices. He respects the challenges associated with municipal work and particularly emphasizes how important a strong backing in the private and professional environment is.

The succession control

For the city council, Zierke's position is taken over by Uwe Jürgen Schmidt, while Peter Reiss from Brüssow takes over his mandate in the district council. A spokeswoman for the district administration explained that the process of filling will be transparent and rapidly.

The SPD members set an example for change in local politics. Especially now that after the elections, many formative members did not compete for re -election, it is important to bring fresh forces and ideas to the political arena. The party sees itself as a strong representation for the concerns of the citizens and would like to continue to set visible accents in the future, as the demo
