There will be a thunderstorm in the eastern half of Germany today, June 26, 2025. The German Weather Service (DWD) has issued an official weather warning for the Uckermark district indicating the conditions to be expected. Specifically, a strong thunderstorm is expected between 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., which will primarily be accompanied by heavy rain and significant gusts of wind. According to news.de, rainfall amounts of up to 15 liters per square meter per hour can occur heavy rain coming.
The warning level is indicated as “Orange”, which indicates severe weather conditions. There is a danger to life from lightning strikes, so vigilant citizens should urgently take shelter outside. There may also be flying light objects and rapid flooding of streets and underpasses. Anyone traveling by car should adapt their driving behavior and especially avoid flooded sections.
More precise weather conditions
The weather situation in the Uckermark district is currently characterized by broken clouds, the temperature reaches a pleasant 21°C with a humidity of 89%. The wind is currently blowing gently at 11 km/h. But that will soon change: from 9 p.m. the probability of precipitation is expected to increase to 100% and wind speeds will also increase.
In the entire eastern half of Germany, strong thunderstorms and a rapid calming of the weather are in prospect this evening, as dwd.de reports. The thunderstorms could also bring small-grain hail and heavy squalls with speeds of Bft 8 to 10. Stiff gusts and possibly isolated thunderstorms are expected in the northeast on Friday.
Forecasts show a low front system moving east near Iceland, bringing cool air with it. While the thunderstorms pass in the eastern half, it is recommended to keep a close eye on the weather situation on Friday, as stormy gusts of up to 70 km/h could occur, particularly at high altitudes and on the Baltic Sea.
