From Boitzenburg to the world's oceans: boat builder conquers the luxury market!

A true hidden champion has established itself in Boitzenburg: The company Mobilerbootsbau, founded by Jakob Kraus, has quickly made a name for itself in the world of yacht building. The innovative workshop, which has been active since 2020, has not only expanded its team of employees from four to 30, but has also increased its production capacity enormously. There are already four apprentices and five self-employed people. This development is anything but commonplace and speaks for the high demand for the company's products. Nordkurier reports that Mobilerbootsbau specializes primarily in the production and assembly of wooden decks and specialized components for yachts.

A main customer is YYachts in Greifswald, known for producing 90-foot carbon sailing yachts. The materials used, such as 0.8 mm thick fiberglass epoxy resin panels, make assembly more efficient as they decouple the teak deck from the yacht deck. This enables assembly without screws or drilling, which significantly shortens the time required for production.

View across national borders

The international sales market accounts for 60 percent of the business. Mobilerbootsbau has, among other things, implemented projects in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe, and the company is even active in South Africa. The latest customers are the Southern Wind Shipyard in Cape Town, which produces decks for yachts up to 123 feet. The precise measurement is carried out using a laser scanner, which significantly increases the quality of the products.

The logistics are just as impressive: the teak decks are shipped to South Africa in ocean containers, which ensures smooth transport. “There’s something going on!” One could say, because the company is very interested in further increasing its qualified workforce, especially boat builders, carpenters and CNC technicians.

Expansion into new markets

Another exciting chapter in the company's history is the planned expansion through the takeover of a boat building business in Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône, France. This will strengthen the company's presence in the Mediterranean and not only expand the market but also open up new production opportunities. Wolz Nautic is well-known in the industry and is considered a technology leader in deck building, which makes the competitive situation even more interesting.

Mobile boat building is known for its high precision and quick assembly time. Compared to traditional methods, specializing in prefabricated systems has revolutionized standard deck building. Customers benefit from clear and efficient project processing, which significantly reduces the manufacturing processes in the shipyard.

Invite you to Advent

And there is also a little highlight coming up: On December 9th, Mobilerbootsbau invites you to an open Advent calendar. From 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., those interested can take a tour of the workshop and take a look behind the scenes. Boating enthusiasts shouldn't miss this opportunity to experience the company's innovative spirit up close!

The future looks bright for mobile boat building. With visionary thinking, foresight and a good hand in selecting their projects, they are well on their way to establishing themselves as an integral part of the world of yacht building.
