With the change of plan, the area south of Ostersoder Straße is now officially shown as agricultural areas, although parts of it are already built on with residential buildings. The Council recommends that these areas to be converted into both residential areas and special construction areas for the biogas plant. Mayor Susanne Schmiedel (SPD) explained that large plots of land are on the left side of the street outside, while the right side of the street is already considered an interior, which makes construction easier.

The biogas plant, which already has a combined heat and power plant (CHP), is to be expanded by a second CHP and an electrolyser.
