Main customs office in Bremen: over 400 kg cocaine and 150,000 counterfeits secured!

The main customs office in Bremen draws an impressive balance for 2024: over 400 kilograms of cocaine were ensured, despite a decline compared to 1.8 tons in the previous year. Nevertheless, Bremerhaven remains an important transshipment point for drugs, and combating the smuggling is very priority. A new X -ray area that will be put into operation this summer enables trucks and containers to be checked even more effectively. Since last year, port employees have been able to report suspicious activities anonymously via a hotline.

The tax revenue of the main customs office was almost 3.8 billion euros - a decrease of 700 million euros compared to the previous year, which is particularly due to lower import taxes. At the same time, almost 150,000 fake products worth over 1.3 million euros were secured. The fight against undeclared work also shows successes: the damage amount found was over 19 million euros with more than 3100 criminal proceedings initiated. The FKS of the main customs office thus remains a decisive player in the fight against economic crime and illegal employment.
