Scientists from all over the world meet at the Bremen Life Sciences Meeting
In May 2025, the Bremen Life Sciences Meeting 2025 took place at Constructor University. Over 200 participants from six continents met to discuss current research and innovations in the field of life sciences. The event offered a platform for the exchange of knowledge and the cooperation between students, researchers and industrial representatives who jointly highlighted the variety of regional natural sciences landscape. For the fourth time, the meeting serves as an important meeting point for experts to establish international networks.
The program included 108 research posters and eight lectures from various disciplines. The topics ranged from molecular biology to catalysis to biophysics and cell research. Dr. Sebastian Springer, professor of biochemistry and cell biology, emphasized the importance of scientific dialogue and interdisciplinary approaches that are essential for the development of new ideas and solutions in the life sciences.
meaning for students
The active participation of the Bachelor students who presented their original research results and were involved in discussions should be particularly noted. Ioana Harabagiu, a student of biochemistry and cell biology, spoke positively about her experiences and the opportunity to network with international scientists and industry experts. Such opportunities promote engagement in applied science and enrich the study through practical insights.interdisciplinary exchange
A central theme of the meeting was the interdisciplinary exchange, which was supported by the participation of representatives from 17 universities and research institutes, including the University of Bremen, Bremen University of Oldenburg. This exchange is of crucial not only for the scientific community, but also for the development of interdisciplinary teaching and learning concepts. According to the studies Generale at the University of Mainz, interdisciplinary competence is viewed as a key to scientific development and for progress in a globalized context.
The Bremen Life Sciences Meeting 2025 thus illustrates how important interdisciplinary research approaches are in order to be able to meet the challenges in life science. The event underlines the commitment of Constructor University to promote such formats and to actively involve students in the scientific community.
