Cristian Chivu becomes the new trainer of Inter Milan: a fresh start!

Mailand, Italien - Inter Milan officially committed Cristian Chivu as the new head coach. This decision was made in the course of the replacement of Simone Inzaghi, who, after a disappointing Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain (0: 5), accepted a new challenge at Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia. There Inzaghi will receive a spectacular annual salary of up to 25 million euros, which interrupts his commitment in Serie A.

The confirmation of the coaching attitude was published on the official homepage of the association. Cristian Chivu, an experienced ex-professional of the club, signed a contract by the end of June 2027. Chivu was an important part of the Inter-Team from 2007 to 2014 and celebrated great success, including winning the Champions League in 2010.

earlier trainer experience

Before his appointment, Chivu acted as head coach of Parma Calcio last season, where he saved the club from relegation. However, he began his coaching career at Inter, where he first coached the youth teams and took on the role as coach of Primavera (U19) from 2021. In this position he was able to gain valuable experience before taking the challenge in the first team.

Inter Milan searched for Inzaghi's resignation for a new trainer and had considered a large number of candidates, including CESC Fàbregas. However, Fàbregas remained at Como in 1907 after the club's president had rejected an interest in the Nerazzurri. Genoa trainer Patrick Vieira was also called the post before the election ultimately fell on Chivu.

A look back at Chivus career

chivu brings an impressive career to Inter. In addition to his 168 missions and three goals for the Nerazzurri, he also played for Ajax Amsterdam and AS Rome and played 75 caps for the Romanian national team. His strong commitment to the club and its connection to the values of Inter could be crucial for his chances of success.

In the coming season, Chivu will have the opportunity to use his knowledge and skills on the large stage of Serie A. He also faces the challenge of successfully leading Inter Milan through the upcoming competitions, including the World Cup in the USA, in which Al-Hilal will also take part.
