German electric cars: world champion in trust - this is how buyers think!
Trust in German manufacturers of electric cars remains high in various markets. According to a survey by BearingPoint, about which the Tagesspiegel reports in the USA, China, France and Germany show clear trust in the quality of German brands. The advantage of German automobile manufacturers varies between three and seven percentage points compared to the second -placed group.
The survey, which included over 2,000 people in the countries mentioned, provided interesting results. While BYD is first in China, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, VW and Porsche are close to one after the other. In the USA, Honda, followed by Mercedes and BMW. German brands also seem to have the upper hand in France and Germany.
market shares and challenges
The German automotive industry benefits from a strong brand image that has been built up for decades. In contrast, Chinese manufacturers have to struggle with problems outside of their home market. In Germany, their market share remains marginal, and in the first four months of the year none of the Chinese manufacturers made the jump over one percent.
For German manufacturers, however, the constant uncertainty about the future of the automotive industry as well as concerns regarding data protection and quality could be a challenge. The picture, which results from the survey results, also reflects the difficult position of the Chinese providers, who only occupy the last place in France and land in Germany in 10th place.
The best electric cars in the test
In the meantime, the ADAC has tested around 90 electric cars and 18 models with a grade of less than 2.0. These reviews show that electric cars do well in many aspects and that deficits are slowly broken down in terms of range and prices. Within the test results, there are classes in the class and sorted by test grade that help buyers make informed decisions.
With the growth of electromobility and a decline in defects, consumers are more willing to invest in electric cars. The price-performance grade is particularly important because it shows which vehicle offers the best performance for the money invested. Detailed results are available in the ADAC database.
global sales trends of electromobility
At the global level, around 9 million fully electric cars were sold in 2023, an increase of 29% compared to the previous year, such as the auto-institut reported. China remains the largest market with 5.1 million BEVS, followed by Europe and the USA. The forecasts for 2024 show another moderate growth, with an estimate of around 11 million global BEV deliveries.
Despite the economic challenges, the market analysts observe a record value in sales fully electric vehicles. In Germany, the paragraph of BEVS is 524,000 units, which corresponds to growth of 11%. German manufacturers, such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz, also record strong growth in the area of BEVS.
The interaction of trust in brands, test results and global sales trends shapes the current landscape of electromobility and clearly shows that competition is becoming increasingly intensive at both national and international level.
