The German women's national team has done it! After a grueling 2-1 win over Denmark, the DFB team qualified early for the quarter-finals of the UEFA Women's Euro 2025. The big showdown against Sweden is now scheduled for Saturday at 9 p.m. in the Letzigrund stadium in Zurich. Before the last group game, Germany is already in second place in Group C, behind Sweden, which has taken the lead with a clear 3-0 win over Poland. Germany and Sweden are therefore facing a crucial duel, as a win is necessary to become group winners and thus secure a cheaper route to the semi-finals, which at least according to DFB sports director Nia Künzer is the goal.

The upcoming duel against Sweden
Germany will wear their red away jerseys for the final group game, while they played in their white home kit in the first two games. In the history of the two national teams, Germany has achieved 21 wins, 8 defeats and 2 draws against Sweden in 31 international matches. The DFB women have been particularly strong at European Championships: They have won five of the six previous matches, while once the game ended in a draw. The record winners of the Women's European Championship with eight titles do not want to show any weakness against the unbeaten Swedes, who celebrated two wins in the group phase.
