Eindhoven, Niederlande - State Secretary Dr. On June 4, 2025, Rapp took a delegation trip to the province of North Brabant and the Flanders region to deepen networking in the areas of life sciences and medical technology. He was accompanied by a 30-member delegation that represented representatives of Baden-Württemberg Economic and Research institutions. The delegation explored innovative ecosystems in Belgium and the Netherlands, with the aim of expanding existing bilateral relationships and promoting new cooperation, especially in drug development and production of intelligent biomaterials.

Rapp emphasized the positive existing relationships with Flanders and Nordbrabant, while he visited institutions such as Pivot Park and the smart biomaterial consortium in Eindhoven, both leaders in drug development. On the second day of the trip, an interministerial declaration of intent was signed with the Minister of Economic Affairs of the Province of North Brabant, Martijn van Gruithuijsen. This declaration of intent includes cooperation in areas such as smart industry, health, energy transition, security and defense as well as sustainable mobility and key technologies.

In contrast, the import from the Netherlands recovered slightly by 0.6% in 2024.
