DRK Ströhen dissolves after 111 years - fusion with Wagenfeld!
The German Red Cross (DRK) local association Ströhen has stopped working after 111 years. The unanimous decision to dissolve was made in an extraordinary meeting that took place in the DRK day care center and lasted about an hour. Only eight members were present and the resignation of the two remaining board members made this step necessary. Inge Thielemann-Rewald and Helke Diepholz actively took part in the meeting and took over responsibility for the upcoming tasks.
The central cause of the resolution is that no new board members could be found. This shows the challenges that many volunteer organizations, such as the local associations of the DRK, are standing today. According to Roter-Kreuz such developments are not unusual. The number of local associations has been continuously declining in recent years, which is often related to mergers or the closure of local associations.
fusion with Wagenfeld
In order to continue to maintain the activities in Ströhen, a merger was decided with the DRK local association Wagenfeld. The members from Ströhen, who do not object to the transfer of their membership, are automatically transferred to the Wagenfeld local association. With this measure, the board of Wagenfeld would like to ensure that club life is continued in Ströhen.
All relevant documents from the Ströher Association will manage the DRK district association. In addition, the district association takes care of the check of the cash register and the regulation of all open financial matters, including the costs for notarial certification.
outlook and upcoming activities
The DRK attaches great importance to the fact that club life in Ströhen is not lost. Responsibility for the implementation of activities should be carried by the Ströher members themselves. In this context, the next blood donation in Ströhen is planned for June 11th, which is also organized by the local association Wagenfeld.
local associations, such as the DRK local association Ströhen, are the basis of the Red Cross work and make an important contribution to voluntary help on site. They are members of a district association and are allowed to use the name German Red Cross and the associated logos. The active club life is strengthened by the numerous local associations and their commitment. The DRK district association Diepholz also encourages other local associations to master the challenges of the time together and continue their valuable work.
