Ellwangen celebrates 40 years of high school: former students full of memories!

Ellwangen, Deutschland - On May 29, 2025, the year 1985 of the Peutinger Gymnasiums his 40-year Abitur anniversary in Ellwangen. The memories of the school days came to life on this festive reunion when almost 50 former students and teachers came together to indulge in memories.

The celebrations began with a reception in the Palais Adelmann, where the participants could initiate to the old connection. The meeting was organized by Markus Köpfer and Susanne Doh-Frei, who offered the alumni a platform to exchange ideas and renew old friendships. Former students told about their lives, while the former teacher Jochen Rupp was also present and contributed to the nostalgic atmosphere.

Review of school time

The high school diploma of the 1985 was exhibited on May 22, 1985, with Dr. Hans Pfeifer, as Rector, dismissed 126 graduates at the time. The closing ceremony took place in a rainy ambience, which, however, did not detract from the start of the celebration of the 40th anniversary. Melchior Rettenmeier then led the group over the site of the State Garden Show, where they could not only marvel at the changes in the city, such as the conversion of the Jagst, but also had the opportunity to chat about old times.

The tour also continued in the “jug” when eating together, where the participants replaced personal experiences in a sociable round and reflected the developments in their respective lifestyle. Some of them stayed late until late at night to enjoy the hospitality of Ellwanger gastronomy and apparently keep unforgettable memories alive.

The role of alumni meetings

alumni meetings are not only an opportunity to celebrate, but also an important element in the education system, which is done by organizations such as the Foreign school is funded (ZFA). These meetings enable former students to network both nationally and internationally and to design their educational biographies beyond school. A network meeting for alumni by Pasch schools in Germany has been organized annually since 2016.

The ZFA has set itself the task of supporting the professional promotion of alumni through various events and workshops. Participants are given the opportunity to exchange ideas in Germany and can take part in special topics such as application training and project management.
