Border controls: Dutch escapes in prison by penalty!

On Monday, June 2, 2025, the federal police on Autobahn 3 at the Knauheide rest area carried out two arrest warrants! A 53-year-old Dutch who traveled across the former border crossing Elten-Autobahn in Germany was discovered during a routine check. The officials met with an arrest warrant from the Duisburg public prosecutor's office due to withholding and misappropriation of work in 14 cases.

The traveler, however, was able to avert a dramatic 53-day prison sentence by immediately paying a fine of 1,590 euros on site to the federal police. After the punishment was paid, he was allowed to continue his trip without further complications. An exciting day at the border!
