Hamas accepts US custody plan-Israel remains unyond-inent place!

Gazastreifen, Palästina - The current efforts to take a ceasefire in the Gaza conflict remain tense. Today it became known that Hamas approved the core of a US custody plan that provides for the release of ten hostages and the transfer of 18 corpses. Nevertheless, the group has formulated additional conditions that comprise longer schedule for hostage clearance and a more comprehensive deduction of Israelich troops from the Gaza Strip. US mediator Steve Witkoff described Hamas' answer as "completely unacceptable" and Israel also rejected the conditions, while it is still looking for hostages that are believed to be between 20 and 23 living and at least 35 corpses in the violence of Hamas.

In a further step, Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accepted the proposal of the US-Naie-Easter, who provides for a 60-day arms rest. Hamas wants to decide by Saturday whether it agrees to the proposal. According to the plan, 28 Israeli hostages are to be released in the first week, for which Israel is supposed to hand over 1,236 Palestinian prisoners and the remains of 180 Palestinian deaths. This is guaranteed by the US government as well as the intermediary Egypt and Qatar.

Humanitarian aid and military operations

A central element of the US proposal is the restoration of humanitarian aid in the Gaza Strip, which is to be provided after the ceasefire agreement has been signed. This comes at a time when Israel had largely blocked international aid for around two million people in the Gaza Strip. The plan stipulates that Hamas is currently exposed to the last 30 of 58 hostages, so that a permanent ceasefire comes into force.

Israel plans to stop all military operations in Gaza as soon as the ceasefire comes into force and gradually start a deduction. However, the Israeli state calls for the complete disarmament of Hamas and the release of all 58 hostages before it agrees to terminate the conflict. However, Hamas rejects this and requires the withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza. The current battles that have been going on on October 7, 2023 since the Hamas massacre have led to dozens of fatalities daily, while Israel has set itself the goal of weakening Hamas and freed the hostages.

political tensions in Israel

The political tensions within Israel with regard to the ceasefire. While the Israeli cabinet is preparing for a short -term session to coordinate the further procedure, there is a dispute between right -wing government members about the strategy. Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir calls for a hard line against the ceasefire, while finance minister Bezhalel Smotrich emphasizes that a full victory and the return of the hostage are priority. Opposition leader Yair Lapid has offered his support for measures to return the hostages, but the unclear situation causes displeasure with relatives of the hostages.

In summary, the situation in the Gaza conflict is characterized by a tension-charged freedom of negotiation, which is characterized by a lack of elements and persistent military conflicts. Despite the hope of a ceasefire, the situation remains tense and unsafe for both the civilians and political decision -makers.
