Abandoned package at Altona train station: Federal Police ensures all -clear

On June 6, 2025, the Federal Police Inspectorate Hamburg was informed about an abandoned package in ICE 1038 at 10:20 a.m. A train attendant had discovered the suspicious piece of luggage and immediately alerted the police. The federal police and the DB security are quickly blocked the area, while the content of the package was unknown and possibly a danger.

The defusing service was consulted to check the package. After a precise fluorescent and manual opening, it turned out that it was only an old record player. The find was surely handed over to Deutsche Bahn. The police operation ended around 12:25 p.m. Information on possible impairments of rail traffic have not been published, while the investigation into the owner of the package is continued.
