In a series of rapid chase, the Hamburg police caught two drivers who freaked out the city in their vehicles at excessive speed. On May 28th and 29th, 2025, a civilian police crew discovered a 20-year-old German in a Mercedes CLK, which roared with a breathtaking 94 km/h instead of the allowed 30 km/h over the Wilhelmsburger Reichsstraße. He ruthlessly overtaken other vehicles and even ignored blocking space. In this dramatic effort, his driver's license was confiscated and criminal proceedings were initiated on suspicion of an illegal car race.

Another traffic offender brought civil police officers in Bergedorf on Thursday morning. A 24-year-old German at the wheel of a Ford S-Max also accelerated unchecked and endangered other road users than he was partly on the wrong lane.
