in Hamburg-St. Georg and at the main train station was again extensively checked on May 28, 2025! The police conducted a focus on violations of the Weapons and Narcotics Act. Such controls have been routine since the prohibition on weapons came into force in October 2023 and are intended to increase the awareness of citizens for security risks. This year there were already over 40 such operations in which more than 15,000 people were checked.

The yesterday's controls led to 38 identity assessments and several ads: including two violations of the weapons law and a violation of the Narcotics Act. Suspected cases regarding illegal stays were also uncovered. The State Police Hamburg and the Federal Police Inspection Hamburg announced that they will continue such unannounced operations to ensure the safety of passengers in local public transport.
