Barmbek-Süd: TÜV-free VW Golf with 400 hp pulled out of circulation!

On Sunday afternoon, June 1, 2025, the Autoposer control group in Hamburg-Barmbek-Süd carried out a traffic control in which a 40-year-old driver of a VW Golf was targeted. The suspicion that the man had been traveling without a license for years, together with several vehicle manipulations, aroused the interest of the authorities.

The Golf, originally with an output of around 310 hp, was drilled to around 400 hp. During the check, the police discovered signs of lifting the speed limit, the installation of an unauthorized brake system and a coilover kit with lane plates. All of these modifications led to the expiry of the vehicle's operating license. The officials confiscated both the driver's driver's licenses and the Golf in order to arrange for a detailed assessment by an expert. The investigation by the East Transport Directorate is still in progress.
