Vehicle fire on the A7: Fire brigade prevents worse!

On Thursday afternoon, there was a spectacular vehicle fire on Autobahn 7, between the Niederaula and Hünfeld/Schlitz junctions! A 59-year-old driver from Kassel suddenly noticed a loud noise from the engine compartment of his VW around 11:30 a.m. He stopped worried on the hard shoulder and was able to leave his car just in time before the engine compartment thick, black smoke quoll. Shortly afterwards the car was in flames!

Thanks to the quick use of 20 firefighters from Niederaula, the inferno could be deleted quickly. The flames were prevented from spreading to adjacent terrain - great praise to the brave rescuers! Fortunately, there were no injuries, but the highway had to be closed for about an hour. Two of three lanes were affected, which caused long traffic jams and waiting times. At 1:00 p.m., however, the route could be released again. A dramatic event that luckily went out!
