Innovative engineering: Day of Engineering in Jena 2025
Weimar, Deutschland - On June 3, 2025, the Day of engineering in Jena. This initiative of the Allianz Thuringian engineering science enables the diverse facets of engineering research to be presented and promoting the exchange between universities. Since its introduction in 2022, the event takes place annually at changing Thuringian universities and gives the participants insight into current projects and innovations in the region.
The event includes a number of keynote speeches as well as an accompanying exhibition that presents innovative exhibits, prototypes and applications. A special highlight will be the Innovation Walk , which starts at 2 p.m. and offers the opportunity for personal exchange to show how research addresses social challenges.
lectures and projects of the Bauhaus University Weimar
2025 The Bauhaus University Weimar participates in the program with several exciting lectures:
- Heat turn in Thuringia (9:40 a.m.)-Helge Grüter-Bîrgaoanu: A model for evaluating the energy requirement and the effects of modernization measures in residential buildings is presented.
- cycling in the focus of networked mobility (10:20 a.m.) - Rebekka Kramm: This investigation looks at the safety of automated and networked mobility for vulnerable road users and takes place in cooperation with four Thuringian universities.
- Development of a multifunctional greening module (11:50 a.m.) - Gloria Kohlhepp: The goal is to use drinking water sustainable by combining greening, gray water preparation and photovoltaics.
- Air purification using photonic oxidation technologies (12:10 p.m.) - David Gaeckle and Moritz Pollack: Innovative approaches to removal of pollutants are analyzed, in particular the effectiveness of photonic methods under laboratory conditions.
additional exhibits and projects
In addition to the lectures, attractive exhibits on the settlement water industry and sewage treatment are shown. In addition, various projects are represented at the event:
- Amelag TH for the early detection of infection outbreaks.
- Farmwater to use cleaned wastewater in agriculture.
- The analysis of textiles and challenges in old textile utilization.
- Project Photech for the development of photonic methods for air purification.
- mobelf, a mobile energy laboratory for practical experiments.
- H2-Well dimensioning tool for hydrogen supply systems.
- nep2n, a robotics platform with green hydrogen.
according to the Federal Report on Research and Innovation It is crucial to strengthen the engineering training in Thuringia. According to the Allianz Thuringian Engineering Sciences, the offer includes numerous courses in computer and engineering sciences that are offered at various universities in the region, including the Bauhaus University Weimar.
The day of engineering in 2025 will not only be a shop window for current research results and innovative solutions, but also promote a platform for the exchange and networking of students, researchers and experts in Thuringia
