Jubilee treat: Musikverein Dewangen celebrates 100 years full of music!

Dewangen, Deutschland - The Musikverein Dewangen is 100 years old this year. From July 11th to 13th, 2025, large celebrations are planned on the festival site at the Wellandhalle. Chairman Hans Waibel emphasizes the high effort and the strong community in the club. With around 325 work assignments on the festival weekend, this will be an important event for local culture.

The anniversary program promises a variety of musical highlights. Among other things, a polka ckarty with "Labrassbanda" will take place on Friday, July 11th, which begins at 8 p.m. A South Tyrolean evening with the sponsor chapel and the NSO Böhmische, a Grand Prix winner of 2023, is planned for Saturday, July 12th. Entry to these events is subject to a fee, while the South Tyrolean evening can be visited free of charge.

The Sunday, July 13th, starts with a service and a morning pint, followed by a festive move at 1:30 p.m. On this day, 40 groups with around 1,500 musicians will also take part and present their skills. A note competition rounds off the program and demonstrates the musical talents.

The Musikverein Dewangen had four conductors and six chairpersons in the course of its history. Hans Waibel, who has been in office since 1994, and the conductor Harry Weingart, who has been there since 2008, have shaped the musical legacy of the association. The association currently has 111 active musicians, 42 young musicians are in training. The training is very important to the association, and eleven trainers do valuable work for the young talents.

The average age of the members is 28 years, which shows that the club has young, aspiring musicians in its ranks. The efforts to promote young talent are also part of the overall goals of the association, which are also reflected in the anniversary.

The public use of music, as is desired at events of the music association, requires legal requirements as to how the regulations of the GEMA confirm. These say that public use of music requires a certain number of potential listeners and that events such as the anniversary festival of the music association have to be registered accordingly and, if necessary, GEMA fees must be paid.
