Young seriously injured: car driver and husband involved in a quarrel!

On June 5, 2025, a seven -year -old boy in Hof was seriously injured in a traffic accident. The incident occurred on his way to school around 7.40 a.m. when he ran on the road between two parked cars without paying attention to the traffic. A 73-year-old driver, who apparently noticed him too late, could no longer slow down in time. The boy crashed into the side of the vehicle and contracted a fracture on the ankle, which required treatment in the hospital.

During the accident recording, another incident occurred. The driver's 71-year-old husband insulted the boy's relatives and described a police officer as a "dirt sau". This incident led the man to be responsible for criminal law. This aggressive reaction in such an emotional situation raises questions about sensitivity in road traffic, especially in the event of accidents that affect children.

increased number of accidents in children

The tragedy in Hof reflects a worrying pattern. According to current statistics, around 25,800 children under the age of 15 were injured in traffic accidents in Germany in 2022, which corresponds to an increase of 16 percent compared to the previous year. A total of 51 children died, so on average a child was injured or killed in a traffic accident every 20 minutes. Children are particularly at risk of school, especially in the morning between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m.

An analysis of the causes of the accident shows that 36 percent of the victims of the children ran by bike, while 34 percent were sitting in a car and 22 percent were on foot. This illustrates that the way to school is a critical danger zone for children.

promote safety in road traffic

The General German Automobile Club (ADAC) recommends that parents to choose a safe way to school with their school beginners and practice it regularly. The accompaniment by a parent remains important even after the first day of school. The ADAC also warns of the dangers of so -called "parent taxis", which can often cause dangerous situations in collecting maneuvers in front of schools.

The numbers illustrate the need to introduce children to the dangers of road traffic at an early stage and to help them master the school route independently. Especially in children aged under the age of 6, often an accident in caring for adults (58 percent), targeted education and training is required.

In view of the increasing number of accidents, it is essential that both parents and road users become aware of their responsibility to ensure the safety of young road users.
