Career opportunities for women: Wocanet symposium in Göttingen will start soon!

Max-Planck-Institut für multidisziplinäre Naturwissenschaften, Göttingen, Deutschland - The "Women’s Careers and Networks Symposium" (Wocanet) will take place from June June 5, 2025 at the Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Natural Sciences in Göttingen. This event is aimed specifically at young scientists and is organized by doctoral students from the University of Göttingen and other institutions. In addition to the universities mentioned, the organizers of the symposium are also the Göttingen Max Planck Institute and the German Primate Center.

The program start is on June 4 at 9 a.m. with workshops that are offered in three sessions running in parallel. The cost of participating in the workshops is between 5 and 10 euros. Already on June 5th at 9 a.m. the symposium will continue with an opening by the mayor of Göttingen, Petra Broistedt.

On June 5, the participants expect exciting lectures by renowned women from science and industry. The speakers include Dr. Laila al-Halabi-Frenzel, CEO and co-founder of Abcalis GmbH, as well as Prof. Dr. Christine Rose, head of the Institute for Neurobiology at the University of Düsseldorf. These lectures offer valuable insights into successful career paths and are supplemented by a career fair in which the Gauss Career Service will also be represented.

Another highlight of the event is the networking dinner on the evening of June 5, which offers the participants the opportunity to contact the speakers and other experts. The participation fees are 10 euros for the symposium, including lunch and coffee breaks, as well as 5 euros for the networking dinner.
